After replacing the broke factory RainSoft head with a Fleck 5600 econominder and new resins, the water softener I got as scrap from a coworker is working and going through some tests to make sure my settings for the capacity are correct.

My dial on the 5600 stops turning prior to the brine tank refill. Should I replace the head or other parts? I can turn the dial to brine refill and it will refill.

This gentleman runs a softener parts website that i bought my parts from, that video should help. I don't have near the experience to honestly answer your question. Thanks for watching though.

if you can get the bypass valve to work it should eliminate the resins. sounds like something in the resin tank gave way and is allowing the resins to leak. those heads just unscrew off. probably the stand pipe in the center of the tank. I found an online retailer and figured it all out. this video was after the rebuild. pretty easy.

if you have the same head, there are lots of resources on the internet about it. the place i bought my parts from has a channel here on you tube called watermanandy. sounds like your regen cycle is having problems. make sure you understand what the steps are in your regen cycle, set it off manually and watch it to see if there is a failure somewhere in the cycle (should take about an hour).

There's 2 reasons to make this failure happening:

1- Broken or damaged lower distributor : letting the resin trough the service line

2- The center tube is damaged, perforated or just not fully inserted on the valve.

I hope I made it clear with my poor english, regards.
