READ DESCRIPTION & WATCH ENTIRE VIDEO BEFORE YOU COMMENT-
THIS IS MY OWN PERSONAL LIST.
These matches were either:
A. Were dream matches fans wanted to see
B. Was the original plan, but was changed for some reason
C. Matches that could have happened because of a current or past rivalry or storyline
NOTE: FOR ALL DREAM MATCH SCENARIOS, ALL COMPETITORS MUST HAVE BEEN EMPLOYED WITH WWF/E AT THE SAME TIME FOR THE DREAM MATCH TO HAPPEN
In the comment section, put some of your wrestlemania dream matches from the past you wanted to see(it must follow the criteria for dream matches above)
#15- How a match between these two 1 on 1 never happened at Wrestlemania is very shocking. Could have happened at 21, but due to Lita's injury, it didn't happen.
#14- A feud that started late summer 2001, could have culminated in their hometown at WM X8. Instead, Christian fought DDP, and Edge feuded with Booker T over a Japanese shampoo commercial.
#13- Original plan was for Luger to beat Yokozuna, and then Bret beat Luger. Changed due to Luger not keeping his big mouth shut.
#12- A perfect way to pass to put the new star over would have been having Savage put Hart over at WM IX. Instead, Savage in the broadcast booth.
#11- Huge feud over the Intercontinental Championship could have culminated at the 1st Wrestlemania.
#10. Taker's feuding with the MDC at the time. BBB was the MDC top star. Would have made sense, and have LT as the enforcer.
#9- A tag feud that never really culminated, and should have at WM VII.
#8- Real life problems could have made for a great WM match at either XIX or XX.
#7- The rematch from WM III could have been a Quarterfinal matchup at WM IV. Wouldn't have been the same match as III, but it would have made sense.
#6- The rubber match. Owen 1, Bret 1. Culminates as Owen is champion, and Bret is the challenger.
#5- The original plan. This would have sold 100,000 tickets.
#4- The original plan, until Shawn "lost his smile"
#3- Rumored to be the original plan for WM 2000, until Taker & Austin were both sidelined.
#2- The two biggest stars of their respective eras. Real life tension from WCW. You talk about more buys than any other ppv WWF/E ever did, this would have done it.
#1- THE ORIGINAL PLAN, until Hogan politics played in.

  • Taker vs Sting - WM XXVII

BTW - Austin vs Taker could never have taken place at WM16 (2000) as Austin was recovering from neck surgery.

  • @sFXNe If you paid attention, this list includes some match that were the original plan. And Taker/Austin was the original plan for Wrestlemania 2000. That changed when Taker got hurt & Austin got neck surgery.

  • Im suprised no1 said this 1 yet Hulk Hogan vs Bret Hart WM IX

  • @JPK567 that was the plan for Summerslam 1993.

  • Ax of Demolition had back issues at the time. I've said it for a while that HBK vs Rock should have happened at 20 because both had great history in their careers at the garden with both competing in classic ladder matches in MSG for the IC belt along with other great moments in MSG.

  • @kingabe07 Ax had heart issues, not back issues.

  • @paolopv You Wanted Y2J And Angle At 13. Angle Didn't Want To Wrestle In 1997 And Jericho Was Still In WCW.

  • Steve austin vs. Shawn Michaela II..WM 19 / 20

  • A great match to me would be Bill Goldberg vs The Undertaker

  • Ric Flair-Mr Perfect WM IX

    Stone Cold-Vince WM XV

Ric Flair-The Rock WM XX and Orton-Foley (same of Backlash)

    Triple H-Cactus Jack WM XVI

    Kurt Angle-Chris Jericho WM XIII

    Demolition-Brain Buster WM V

    Undertaker-Sting WM XXVII

  • @noblesiner They wrestled a good few times in the mid 1990's with Taker winning every match I saw, anyways.

  • @ecrtr3004 That was planned but Hall was suspended by the time WM 12 came along.Halls was actually on the promo poster for WM 12.

  • @WeAreProWrestling It was an allergy to shellfish that caused his heart problem.

  • @Damn3691 No, HBK and The Rock never fought each other because when HBK was on top from '96-'98, The Rock was coming up in the Rocky Maivia giddy face gimmick and then the N.O.D. gimmick. By the time HBK dropped the belt to Austin and stopped wrestling in March '98, Rock was still IC Champ and didn't get the WWF title until Survivor Series 1998. When HBK returned in 2002, Rock began his Hollywood career and wasn't around much. It's a shame they never got to work a program.
