"We reward those who sit on their ass"

People would get jobs and do work IF jobs were available. We're only running the welfare program so people don't starve on the streets. Is it really their fault that they can't get a job?

I agree that we shouldn't punish those who do work hard but in order to do that we must put a heavier tax on the millionaires for compensation which wont happen so long as lobbying exists.

Jobs ARE available. Jobs are just harder to get than welfare. Some say cutting taxes won't make corps hire more people. Same for more jobs. More jobs doesn't mean people choose work over a free ride. Those who do are real Americans no matter what their politics, etc.

The RICH contribute billions to charities that go DIRECTLY to the needy but the poor complain they have too many tax write offs.

IF the gov. let everyone do business, one person or corp., ALL would be employed.

Well, you're right. But where do want to cut spending first? Your military is so out of wack, biggest on the planet, and the wars you fight cost a lot of money, including wars like the war on Iraq that didn't even hurt the guys who threaten America. And even if someone or some organization in Asia is threatening the US, why do you bother? The can't really hurt you. Cut this, then you can afford free healthcare for sure. It works for Germany too!

Many of the country's economic problems are intertwined. Free healthcare does not work. Canada's "free" healthcare is out of money. You eventually run out of "free" money that has to come from somewhere. 1 in 4 kids in THIS country is starving? If you can't afford kids DON'T HAVE THEM! And don't expect others to pay for them. Cut ALL Gov. waste. Military waste is only half the problem. Others will always want to kill us. We need to spend SMART not spend BIG.

@BlackHatUSA Are you saying that the number of jobs do not correlate to the unemployment rate?

Recent job numbers have shown up and over 212000 jobs were created and that caused the rate to go down to 8.6%. So no people are finding jobs; they are not as lazy as you think.

The rich do help but they also destroy. They are the ones outsourcing the jobs to places like China. They are the ones who control everything and make people pay for their mistakes so they could get more rich.

Mikedav; Excuse me, when Reagan came into office unemployment was over 10% and within 18 months, jobs were growing at record rates. Blacks prospered better under Reagan than any American president. Iran Contra? At least Iran Contra was investigated, unlike, stonewalling Obama and Holder whose giving guns to the Cartel has killed American border patrol agents and hundreds of Mexican nationals. We prospered under Reagan, he restored our pride in American. Unlike Carter demoralizing Americans.
