  • SHE'S OK. DEFINITELY CANT COMPARE HER WITH LIKES OF ALARMEL VALLI AND MALAVIKA

  • Completely agree!!!

  • but that jugalbandi was fantastic- didn't miss a beat! having studied the mridangam, she stands above her peers in laya and tala gnanam. wish she still gave these sort of performances... in THIS style, still a very unique one.

  • She is more lively than malavika and not as jerky as Valli is. I prefer her to both given she dances like this. Sad is her migration to semi classical and filmy dance. Her grasp on ardhis and talam is commendable. Even in Part 1 she has some unconventional executions in usual korvais.

  • agreed totally and there is no free movements and needs to stretch her legs , probably as she has less practice after shifting to movies

  • Looking at her it seems that this video was taken quite a long time ago.The Shobana that I see now dances way better than this...I guess she has transitioned very well to being a world class dancer...even this video along with the other ones highlights her innate genetic skill for dance...she has definitely worked on herself..I saw her live performance last year, her command on rhythm along with expressions & body control is beyond outstanding.

  • She has flat feet, very little arch. Makes it hard to dance. Not a very good dance, poor stamina.

  • And when she finally does aramandi she leans her upperbody forward which is very bad for her lower back bcuz she doesnt pull her stomach in. And 3.23 omg how my guru drilled me to pull ur stomach in and pull urself back.. she shamelessly ''scoops'' as how my guru calls it. I think bcuz she is related to famous BN dancers she think she doesnt have to work as hard as everybody else and her arrogance takes over everything. I feel bad for her bcuz she is very beautiful and has a great body & face.

  • It hurts watching this! Maybe its me but this is the weakest style in BN ive ever seen or she does it all wrong!! She does not jump were needed, 1.51 her arms are not diagonal, feet are too wide apart all the time. She has great arms, legs, body and face (she really has it all which makes this even more painfull to wtach) but doesnt know how to use them, no sence for geometrie.

  • she is very beautiful, is she Tamil or Malayali?

  • she only good for acting.....definitely not quality Natyam

  • @TheHitenMistry I do agree. Her dancing is very soft. My style is the older Kalakshetra as my teacher was trained by Balasundari, a classmate of the Dhananjayans in the 50s & 60s at Kalakshetra in Chennai.

  • This is fully Chitra Vishweswaran style - before she kinda got lost in all other kinds of different styles. Here she is more than perfect.
