Lucid Dreaming
It's been 12 years since I started this particular endeavor, it may be a couple of months to a few years depending on how well You recall Your dreams already (Regardless of what some people say, everyone dreams it's just some remember and some don't) and how long it takes You before You can learn to effectively apply each of these techniques. Everyone is different even minuscule biochemical variances can affect how long it will take for an individual to learn to retain consciousness during dream time.

Breathing is key; imagine Your lungs as a water pouch.

When You breathe fill The lower portions (right about the belly button) then fill upward from there into the chest slowly. Exhale slowly from chest down to the belly button. Do this as relaxed and as natural as possible it's of no use to strain yourself or activate an acute stress response, which would prevent You from sleeping till it passed.

It can be helpful to take a mid morning or afternoon nap. Especially if You are already well rested if You are exhausted then You will conk right out when You are just beginning Your breathing exercises.

Construct dream worlds in Your head before falling asleep, let Your imagination run free. If You don't You can end up in a random dream. Once aware of Your dreaming keep Your mind focused; any deviation and/or stray thought can send You off and out into something completely different or worse, You could awaken.

Make a point to be aware of whether You are awake or sleeping by doing one of the various tests below.

Turn lights on and off (Your brain is not accustomed to light variations in dream)

Imagine Your Arm from Your perspective reaching out and knocking something off the table. Make Your brain mimic the feel of the action while doing this exercise, as it is vital to be familiar with this type of focusing, for, in Lucid Dreaming it becomes easier to move around. If You knock the object off with Your arm or "thought" You are most probably dreaming.

When entering a room ask Yourself if You are asleep or awake sometimes after this becomes habit You will find Yourself asking this while asleep which is enough to kick start a lucid dream.

When falling into sleep try to retain Your awareness, meditation can help a lot in this.
The TV exercise involves a TV the volume turned down to a comfortable level find something educational or a movie You can fall asleep to. Lay back and allow Your eyes to relax and blur. After a little while focusing only on the amorphous glow and the sounds being emitted You may experience of creeping blackness that swiftly invades Your visual field, let this pass and do not panic. After a moment You will either slip into dream or wake back up. You can also do this with a computer and the geiss screensaver or electric sheep and some mellow or ambient music, perhaps nothing too brash.

When laying down be sure to position Yourself on Your back and find as comfortable a position as possible if this is impossible lazyboy recliners may as well have been made for Lucid Dreamers I have found palms down and at Your side, back straight, and neck relaxed works great for lazyboys. While palms up at Your side works best for supine prone position in bed or on the floor.
It takes time and dedication. If while attempting to Lucid Dream, You hear a rumbling like rolling thunder or electric buzzing, accompanied by bright flashing lights this is your brain preparing You for dream time. Atonia (a weakening of Your musculature) prevents You from physically acting out Your dreams, but it can be frightening to those that are unaware. Let this pass, and Happy Dreaming!

  • It's just called an OBE: Outer Body Experience. Not OOBE.

  • @racheybaby99 It's either really, Out of Body Outer body, it's negligible since it's just a label. If I wanted I could call it "Jelly time with ghostly Me" but I don't think anyone would really understand...

  • @niza310 Also if I wished, I could dub it Headspace Exploration, or Psychonautic Excursions which is more what it feels like anyhow, but it would alienate some of My audience.

  • nice bowler

  • @ghostspider01 Thanks!

  • Smooth shoot. Great opening. I find that looking for lucidity chases it away. Lucidity in dreams becomes incidental to other things I do.

  • @JamesNealFox Thanks, it was all one take I edited it to break the pauses between words and bring a fifteen minute video down to 9 minutes with an intro. I'm a natural, I started learning various methods to perfect it for 12 years ago but I had been doing it all My life. My earliest memory is of an OOBE, I should recount that in a video some day. Interestingly enough I found it to be circumstantially verifiable some 24 years later when talking to My Mother about that particular night.

  • i really wish ppl would just post everything quick and easy in simple txt.

dude ur wearing a hat, talking to a camera. did u prepair for this or jus decide to bullshlt and talk like most of the kid vids on here ><

did u rewatch this after u made it?

  • The other night I don't know if I was dreaming or not, but like the description says there could be buzzing or bright flashing lights. Well i was in my living room. In my "dream". And I saw this huge light shine in my front window (it was night btw) and I froze and I was scared as fuck. And it went away and came back. And again I was scared and frozen. When I woke up from this I was having major sleep paralasys and I couldn't move. It was freaky.

  • This is gonna sound weird, but I had a dream about 2-3 years ago about someone who looked EXACTLY like you. He was telling me about something and I think it was about controlling my dreams. he also was smoking a cigarette. (Random) The dream had a huge impact on me and I always remembered this man, even drawn him. When I saw you on this video it kind of freaked me out. Lol. Only difference was, the tips of his hair were dyed red.

  • I need to speak up & maybe I'll look like a fool for it but here goes. For a long time now, I've found myself suffering sleep paralysis, as I've learned to fear it less & break free of it easier, it happens less frequently. But nowadays when it does happen & I don't attempt to break out of it, I hear this loud strange droning or vibration & I won't lie, it sort of hurts my head. I do feel pressure on the third eye area, a lot of it! It's way too much. I never just let go, always break it.

  • back when i was 12 i was able to lucid dream almost everyday, and it all started from one time. 9 years later and i can almost always lucid dream, i always seem to know im dreaming in a dream. i find laying on my back does give me more of a chance of being lucid. Recently Ive been trying to Astral project or oobe, but its harder then i thought :), i can never really pass those vibrations.
