This video demonstrates how I fashion a 9 strand flat braid crown. This is a very elegant and timeless braid that is accented here with ribbon. It does not matter how many strands are braided in this manner - only that bunches of hair are about the same thickness. The method of crossing over and under to the center is the same when braiding 3 or 33 strands. I recommend viewers who wish to try this style practice with shoelaces or cording to become acquainted with this type of weave. Hair is not always obedient so I apply a liberal amount of good quality styling gel to achieve a tight neat look.
