The only problem with all the Next Gen Trek movies was that Rick Berman was involved, and, typically, they were all made on the cheap. Luckily, with the failure of this movie, Paramount realised it was time to move on and spend some money on its biggest franchise.

You know, I've grown tired of people saying this was just like Wrath of Khan; I've watched Wrath of Khan and Nemesis repeatably trying to find the resemblance and I only found two.

1. The Villain came from a barren world.
2. A Main character dies.

Wrath of Khan was about a villain returning for revenge against someone who did him harm, Nemesis was about a villain trying to prove that his life is worth more than just being a copy of another. Two completely different concepts.

Yanno, if Paramount wanted to be honest about the trailer for Nemesis, they'd have advertised it by showing the trailer for Wrath of Khan.

They already tried making TNG films and had only one success (First Contact). The recent "Star Trek" was a huge improvement for Paramount as far as profitability. A DS9/Voyager would simply not be commercially viable.

The mind rape on Troy was Shinzon's desire to have a female close to a human, Troy being half human! The rape was disturbing because it was never used in star trek, except maybe in "violations" ep from TNG. As for Data's death, well, all loved one pass way when you least expect! To me it did do it justice, for he finally understood what it means to be human, sacrificing himself to save his friends. It's hard to see a beloved character die, no matter the deaths!

I read quite alot of books.

Why is all that stopping somebody from making a film about one of them.

The good times are not over yet but this new Star Trek Cardinal series will seel its fate.

agreed.. they shouldve made a series with the Organians and ISC wars.... Federation was at war with lots more than the Klingons during the Early Era's.

All we have for a continuation of the Storyline are 2 lousy stories in video games, Starfleet command 3 wich depicts Romulans as the ennemy (how original)
And Elite force II wich has a good story (as short as it is)... Hidden Evil is fan based and just too... amateur, their uniforms are too large lol

Now I understand why people hated this film so much! It's because is shows a part of every human that doesn't want to be seen. We've always seen in Picard something we all want to be, a great man. Now comes his shadow (as Jung describes that we don't want to be) Shinzon, his own unconscious ability to do harm. We all have a Shinzon in us that we don't want to see, a shadow cloaked that can barely be seen and targeted by our enterprising personality. This film is one of the best there!
