The Club was "Jilly's" in NYC. Bobby was the headliner and I was the backup trio. He made me become a professional as I was just shucking in those days. Could no longer do that folllowing him. We worked back to back for 10 years. He was my mentor but got too involved in booze and drugs. He was taken to the home of a fan, Louise Rotkowitz in Connecticut who put him up but found him dead in the show one morning. So sad, so sad.

I love him! I knew him quite well in the early 60"s at the beginning of his career at The Livingroom in Manhattan. He sent me his album, New New New before it was published. He was a fabulous talent and a charming person. I will always miss him.

Thanks, for posting this tune, by a talent that was cut short...I wish if you have the collection, that was recorded by Bobby, with his trio...I believe the album, was titled...New..!...New..!...New
...! I don't know what label, put it out, but remember it had classic standard songs and some of Bobby's original stuff...If you can post that album, it sure would be a treat, for Bobby Cole fans....Thanks again...!!

(The following message is from my brother).
I read up on bobby's death in december of '96. This is Tom his greek friend from New York with Dimitri Ladas. We both loved Bobby and watched most of his acts, being his personal friends. I'm very sorry that a great pianist of that caliber is gone.
If anybody remembers me,(1980-1992), please contact me. James, if you get my message or anybody, i'll be glad to hear from you.

This jazz track from 1964 is one of my alltime favorites, the musical arrangements, and the vocals are blissful, a divine track to say the least.

I found this great musician's record in a second-hand store in Santa Cruz, California, in the late 80s, and have been hooked ever since. When I moved to New York, I looked him up, and we spoke on the phone a number of times before he died. What a wonderful musician and human being!
