  • I've always prefered Dallas over Spencer. Underoaths older albums were sick.

  • i saw spencer do the old underoath songs. it was better than people give him credit for

I find more people shit on spencer just because he didn't have that same feel for his own style vocals in chasing safety

I saw them live this past november and speezy fuckin got it, both clean and unclean vocals

  • honestly the only difference i see between Dallas taylor underoath is the lyrics. The style is an ever-changing evolution that occurs in any good band. The difference is that when Dallas stopped writing their lyrics, they didn't have any emotion anymore. For example, listen to Cries of the Past while reading the lyrics, then do the same with It's Dangerous Business Walking Out Your Front door. They're basically about the same thing. I love all Underoath as far as style goes.

  • Just to clear things here, sick of people arguing about genres here ..

Particularly this song, has a little element of black metal vocals.

The high screams, low growls are heard on some black metal bands.

Some parts of the guitar here are death metal riffs. 0:40, 1:04, 1:34, 1.44, 2:59

    But not as heavy.

Others are elements of post hardcore such as the horns, and chords.

  • @64225jrh Gay?

  • old underoath may be better but they're good either way. Actually the new new underoath is good, too with Spencer doing the singing and screaming.

  • i find this had to masturbait to

  • @coolfrets Well, you'll have to understand that some people prefer the heaviness of this album.

Now, i agree, some clean vocals would be good but some songs don't need any to be awesome.

Best examples: even though i prefer clean vocals, and more melodic passages... take a look at this.

Favorite In Flames Album: The Jester Race (No clean vocals unlike some of their other albums)

Favorite All That Remains Album: This Darkened Heart (2nd least amount of clean vocals of their five albums.

  • my names Adrienne =]

  • 3 ppl ride the short bus and wear helmets ...... 1000000 thumbs up 4 u underoath !!!!!! like !!!!!!
