Each installment of Ben's Tours will take you on a visit to a special place. This time we explore the Toronto Zoo, one of the world's largest. Check out a sampling of the Zoo's more than 5000 animals housed over 700 acres along 6 miles of trails.

  • Nice video... I can't believe you saw the wolves... I went a few times as a kid, and I've always loved wolves, but we never got the opportunity to spot them :(

I'm going again next week, so hopefully this year will be the year!

  • The wolves are my favourite. If you can get to the zoo for opening, and head straight to the Canadian Domain (yes, I know that's the farthest possible point), you'll catch them finishing their breakfast and likely at their most active. Another trick for later in the day is to walk around to the back of their enclosure. Sometimes they rest on the downside of a small hill, but can be spotted from beneath the old monorail track.

  • looks like alot of fun!!! can't wait to go this summer...but just asking..do you have to drive around in a car to see the animals, like at the African Lion Safari??? or can you walk around?

  • There is a zoomobile that goes between zones, but for the most part, this is a walking zoo. And it's a BIG walking zoo, so wear good shoes and practice safe sun! By the way, the animals are more active first thing in the morning, the parking lot and front gate less crowded, so if you can go for opening you can beat the rush and see the animals at their best

  • I'm more interested in the wolves...can you walk to see them... or drive??

  • The wolves are my favourite too, but they are housed in the farthest point of the zoo, at the bottom of a long, steep hill. Too steep for the zoomobile, so the only way to get to the wolves is on foot.

  • Hi HisBigness, another great video! This captures many of the highlights of the Toronto zoo, but more importantly it conveys the diversity of their specimens. You should consider submitting this to the Canada’s Got Treasures collection by joining our YouTube group (/group/TresorTreasure). It would be made available on our channel and website. Help celebrate Canadian diversity!

  • Thanks for the hint, I'm sure to try that out - don't think I'll make it for morning, so I'll try the downside of the hill. Really hoping to see them this time :)

  • Wow thank you so much :)
