The problem with the Jelly Lens is that it's so optically incorrect. It blurs the edges and has a big blurry spot right in the middle. The closer you mount it to the physical camera element the more it helps reduce the blurring. Experiments performed on the Kodak Zx1. (You can notice the blurriness in this video too)
