my Uncle-in-law (My sister married this guy’s son, which made him my uncle) speaks so fast & with his heavy accent, along with half of what hes saying is Irish slang, I can hardly understand what he’s saying half the time. Sadly, he went back 2 Ireland after dat so Im going around the net hoping 2 learn how 2 speak in this accent by the time he comes back. Idk if an accent can be “taught”, but if u are somehow an amazing teacher, or u kno certain websites you’d recommend 2 look at, care 2 share?

@music8mysoul The best way to get used to an accent is to immerse yourself in it.
If you know where he's from you could look up that accent.
That is probably the best advice I can give you.

The only thing I'm ever sure of with pronunciation of the Irish language proper is that it's never even remotely what it looks like it would be in English. You'd think people in TV and movies would afford to hire someone who knew what they were doing, but so few of them do.

@SpamWarrior3000 It's like any language that uses the Roman alphabet, it makes up its own rules in regards to pronunciation.
