although i agree with cenk, i think the whole talking point with gen. clark was a bit unimportant.

Gen. Clark was absolutely right. Getting shot down and captured does not qualify someone to hold high office. And it damn sure doesn't make him a hero. If anything it just means he was bad at his job.

ajacks; The point was, that McCain is an honorable man, an honest politician. I know you'll naturally dispute this, being a liberal. He has 30 years in the senate, opposed to Obam's one incomplete term.
What makes him a HERO! is the torture and inhumane treatment he endured for 5 years....Because he was the son of an admiral, the Vietnamese needed this propaganda punch! All he had to do was talk, SAY the U.S was wrong and bad, and home he went. Thats not a hero?

You are disgracing your service, and mine, with your rants and swearing. "My country, right or wrong" is the obvious point you have missed. We should always be proud to serve our country, but it is our duty as patriots to question our country if we may be in the wrong. And just because we are the US does not automatically make us right. (segregation and the military's role in that...)
