Melilla, spain´s gate in Africa

Melilla is an spanish town located in north Africa since XV century. It has been along the times an amazing bastion from the military point of view but it has been too and already now a melting pot of christians, muslims, jews and even there is long time stablished a hindu community. I also would suppose buddhist nowadays when visiting the sinagoge I found in its basement a chineese bazar.
It is also the second city of Spain behind Barcelona in moderniste architecture.

Melilla es una ciudad española desde el siglo XV ubicada en el norte de Africa. Bastion militar siempre y tambien punto de encuentro de culturas donde conviven desde hace mucho cristianos, musulmanes, judios y hindús. Actualmente añadiría budistas supongo cuando al visitar la sinagoga me encontre ocupada su planta baja por un bazar chino.
Por otra parte es depués de Barcelona la segunda ciudad de España con más arquitectura modernista.
