1- hold very often from when their baby, maby 1-3 hrs a day. do exersized to show ur friendly, like take him swimming in the bathtub and provide ur hand as platform to get out of the water.
2- dont feed them live food or feed them inside their cage, that promotes agressive behavior and will cause him to mistake food with fingers
3- give it time, things dont just happen over night, this takes time and dedication... without it even the nices lizards will become nastly A-holes

@wlrules colubians are a bit more active that the argentine tegu.
BASICLY... avrage argentines are calm, friendly and dosile
avrage columbians are a bit more active/aggressive
Gold Tegus are the REAL ass hole tegu's to avoid
columbians can make very good lizards but their are 3 key steps to make them tame and friendly.
