@Wonton118 No, you're definitely not. It's rude and somewhat typical for local culture. I lived there for a number of years and it's a fascinating country in many respects. What I couldn't get used to was precisely that sense of "implicitness", though. They would always present things like a matter of course while, in fact, nothing had ever been said/announced about whatever kind of issue.

Why would they just surprise him with a speech aired on, what i'm assuming public tv, like that without telling him? am I the only one that finds it sort of sad/rude?
