I like how the marbles on each track reach the end at the same time even though track one is slow and the other track fast. Was that planned or unintentional?

It was unintentional. Sometimes I am very pleasantly surprised to see how well timed the marbles seem to be. I think it's because they have the same amount of vertical height to fall, but that's just a guess...
It's nice when it happen though.
