  • I don't understand how the passat tdi gets better mpg than the jetta tdi and they both have the same engines but the passat weighs more...

  • How come US-spec Passat looks so much worse than EU-spec one?

  • Not impressed with this car

  • @ratmtbola

You're right; the Passat and Jetta GLI are built in Chattanooga, TN. The Jetta is assembled in Puebla, Mexico. I spoke to sales rep at a VW dealership and he says more models could be built in the Tennessee facility.

  • I really cant differentiate it from the Jetta.. and does VW mean Americans love dull and ugly cheap cars???

  • Same size as a fusion? I didn't actually look at the specs but I saw and sat in both when my parents were looking at cars and the Passat is way bigger! It looks hugh and the inside is hugh.

  • @SixHundredHP It's not designed IN America, it's designed FOR Americans ;) And yep it's built in America. But I don't think that that would make it an American car. Otherwise a large ammount of 'American' cars would be Canadian or Mexican ;)

  • @YUaali94 oh, that makes sense.

  • @SuperMeatsause the passat that they tested had bluemotion tegnology the jetta doesn't to keep cost down

  • @SuperMeatsause i thinki it has to do with the AdBlu system. the jetta has a filter for the gas.

  • @SixHundredHP im not ure where your located but here in LA diesel right now is accually cheaper..and its been cheaper for a few years..

  • @Bahnhoeffle i didn't understand anything you just said but it makes sense...I was expecting the passat to get less MPG at the most the same as the jetta. As fuel efficient as diesels are, they are nowhere near hybrids.
