Chapter 4
Bonfire Night.
I was in my cabin with my friends, getting dressed I decided to put on red skinny jeans, a white long tank top and some black converse high tops, since I am going solo on this bonfire night. Taylor was wearing her black Juicy Couture dress and a pair of ballerina flats. Kelly was wearing black skinny jeans with a long top that said "We Are Who We Are" on the front. Erika was the cutest of us all she was wearing a little sundress and regular white converse.
We made our way to the bonfire; I sat with my campers and watched the fire as Claire the Camp Director was telling everyone the rules about not going in the lake after a certain time. Delanie complained as usual, I just ignored her comment and kept looking at the fire.
As I sat there looking at the fire, I felt someone looking at me intensely; hesitantly I looked over to see who was looking at me. Of course there he was; Matthew, he made his way towards me and sat next to me. I looked over at him and smiled a little then looked back at the fire. The temperature dropped and of course I forgot to pack a sweater, looks like mom was right on that one. I began to shiver, I felt a warm jacket go across my shoulders, I looked over at Matthew.
"You didn't have to give me your jacket." I said looking at him.
"Well, I'm a gentleman, it's what we do." He said laughing a little before saying "but it's really no big deal, plus you looked a little cold Ms. Shivers." He said smiling at the pet name he had just given me.
"Well thank you Mr. Jersey Gentleman." I said letting out a little giggle. Did I really just giggle?. Oh man, I heard Taylor's voice from across the fire, she was flirting with another camp counselor I believe he's one of the new male counselors.
"So Jesse, there's this game my friends and I play it's called would you rather." Taylor said, smiling and looking at Jesse.
"Oh how do you play that?" He asked, looking at her.
"Well, I give you two extreme options and you have to choose one and you can't bail." She said smiling and nodding at the rules.
"Oh, okay, can my friend Calvin and his girlfriend Shauna play too?" He simply asked Taylor.
"Of course!.. The more people the strangest the game gets." She said looking over at Matthew and I. Oh please don't call us over Taylor.
"Nina!, Matthew! Come over let's play would you rather with Jesse, Shauna, Calvin, Anastasia, Trevor and I!" She said.
I looked over at Matthew.
"It's a fun game." I said smiling. "Let's go play and it's totally easy."
"Then we can play never have I ever." Matthew said, smiling.
"I'm afraid of the outcome of that game but sure." I said as we both got up from our campers and walked over to Taylor.
"Okay so Jesse, would you rather kiss a king cobra for five minutes or Jump out of a burning building with a hello kitty umbrella?" Taylor said looking at Jesse.
"Uh, hmm do I get to keep the cobra after kissing it?" He asked.
"No, you're at a zoo if you kiss him." She said.
"Then I'd definitely be jumping out of a burning building with a hello kitty umbrella." He said laughing.
"Okay your turn Ana." Taylor said.
"Okay, um Nina, would you rather bathe in hot chili and have a pig yelling at you in Spanish or walk around the mall with a hat on your hands and gloves on your feet?" Anastasia asked.
"Uh, do I get to keep the Spanish speaking pig?" I asked.
Matthew laughed. That was actually a serious question. Okay I was just kidding, not that serious.
"Uh, yeah you do." She said.
"Then I'd rather be walking around the mall, just like SpongeBob that one episode." I said laughing.
"Oh my gosh! Are you guys playing would you rather?!" Erika asked walking over, sitting down next to Shauna.
"Yeah, we are Erika; my turn!" Shauna said.
"Okay go Shauna." Calvin Said.
"Okay, Matthew right?" Shauna asked.
"Yeah, that's my name." He said, nodding.
"Okay, would you rather be stuck eating a potato that kept coming back after you ate the first one so a never ending potato or go ice skating in the Bermuda triangle with a bear chasing you?" She asked.
"Uh, the potato, I'm not a fan of bears." He said.
That game went on for hours; we all decided to give up after the questions began to get out of hand. I told my campers time to head back to their cabin, they of course put up a fight until Claire dismissed us from the fire. Well except the counselors we were suppose to clean up the left over marshmallows.
