  • ...given that this is LL, he should sound worse, but it is not all that great...you get too much of that shrill-indifferent LL tone, like he is SO indifferent toward the music...how could Gergiev, who is, after all, no fool, sound positive about THIS?...well, it's all "the inside-music" politics, right?..

  • @alexggable

I agree that you cannot beat Richter, but you can play it differently. And isn't Lang Lang different enough for you? For me? he is.

  • I hate this picture. It makes me laugh while I try to enjoy the music

  • Yahhhhh!!! Just when I was about to compliment stagesix for not cutting this off at the stump (aka the recapitulation) (s)he goes and cuts three measures before the exciting marcato section ends!!!

Can you spell frustration??? Incidentally, guys and gals--if you're going to upload, no reason to cut these ten-minutes movements into half anymore. The limit is 15 minutes-has been for quite a while. YouTube started with a 10-minute limit anyway so please try to pick a quiet place to make the cut.

  • great performance .

    funny picture also.

  • Pianiste génial qu'est Lang Lang. Fabuleuse interprétation.

  • the only other pianist who ever dared play those famous opening chords in that majestically sumptuous way was Artur Rubinstien in the last recording of the 2nd with Ormandy............it was groundbreaking and I cannot find the cd of it

  • @hanamano37 Gergiev who conducted this discussed performance practice in an interview, in regard Lang's approach and execution of Concerto was groundbreaking and outstanding. To come back to your limited world, that a good indicator one has nothing more useful to say, is to buddy up with others to justify his none sense.

  • Or minor, i can't see if he presses a black key or a white one, or boths

  • He is doing a D Major on the picture
