  • I wonder what made the audience spontaneously begin to improvise on the piece before and after the performance O_o

  • its interesting to read all these comments. So many people fail to observe how hard it is to actually do this. I have seen the music, I studied it, and tried it in class. It isn't as easy as people are making it to be. Most of the people making these useless comments don't have the concentration to do this piece

  • @HolyFiyre Do you have a problem with lettuce? Because if you do, then we have a huge problem my friend...

  • @AnotherClich3 I respect those that perform the "music", and I don't criticize anyone here for having a good opinion about the music. but the way I see it, to go back to your food analogy, it's like a salad. Now, some people like salad. But is salad really any good without any other vegetables but lettuce? Without the dressing or croutons or whatever you prefer on your salads? Can it still be called a salad, or has it become just a bowl of lettuce? In my eyes, it becomes just a bowl of lettuce.

  • @HolyFiyre Reich doesn't produce your "meat and potatoes" music. It's not listened to on a regular basis for enjoyment. Keeping with the food analogy, it's kind of like tasting rare ingredients. The purpose isn't to have a meal, it's to explore something new and complex while focusing on the one ingredient. Similarly, Reich often produces stuff that focuses on one pattern or sound.

And, hell. Some people end up like eating single ingredients.

  • @kville105125 yes!!!

  • Obviously it takes extreme amounts of focus for a group to pull this off. But why do all of Reich's pieces have to be so goddamn repetitive and long! I mean, for god's sake, THIS MUSIC IS TERRIBLE! It shouldn't even be called music, it's NOISE! You must have to have either an extreme love for Reich, or be a terrible musician to like this. Quit playing Reich and move on to better things for the sake of music's future.
