Tech house totaly made on the Akai s-3200xl and sequenced via mid on logic 5.5 on the pc.
What you hear is coming from the stereo out into the sound card...I didn't even run the individual outs into the mixer or anything, FX also from the akai.

  • Hi, good job as always. Have you ever compared the sound quality between an Akai sampler and a virtual sampler like Vsampler? Akai must be better, but how much? I'm considering buying an S3000XL and I'd like to know if the Akais worth it. And how about Akais S models and MPCs? Thank you very much.

  • @fabiovsroque Not really....I used to use the EXS-24 then went back to Akai's, never really noticed any difference..just preffered working with the Akai..the 3x series aren't the best sounding or anything but I love em'

What about the MPC's? the 2000XL don't sound too different either, it's all a load of hype I think...the MPC-60 sounds different but not in the way people think imo

  • sounds good. is threre a resnt. lpf? thanks.

  • Thanks! Yea the 3000 series and after had resonant filters unlike the ones that came before.

  • cool track by the way........ ';o]

  • Thanks :-)

  • akai samplers helped to create this techno style genre..!! back in the 90's these things (s1000's) made the sounds of the techno D&B scene what it was.. the songs were generall made on the samplers any how.. i know this because i used to do it every day in the studio as a session engineer for many many tracks...

  • mik300z:The reason the Juno G doesn't come close to the classic dance sounds is because Roland refuse to listen to their customers and continue to churn out piss poor imitations of their past legends. They are kidding themselves if they think their new digital stuff can even compare to the genius they created 25-30 yrs ago.

  • Great track - real oldskool flavour

  • excellent clip, I want to buy this sampler innear future and You help me make a choice :) thanx

  • Your shit is so sick. I love how you syncopate when you drop the different elements. This sounds like something off Drumpoet Community, like Kawabata, only better. I would release this shit right here, don't matter if isn't perfect, it's RAW, and that's rare these days. Do you use any kind of compression anywhere in your mixing process?

  • Holy shit! This dude is a mastermind with techno beats :O Only if you were the one who made songs for DOA or Tekken.

  • Wow! Being a person that works entirely in a DAW (because I can't afford any hardware as I'm a student) I have massive respect for people that can really make these machines sing! Blows my mind what this hardware can do.

    Great vid.

  • Nice.

I just picked up a s2800 to hook up, but it came with no SCSI card and only the OS disks.

Is there anywhere I can pick up some sample libraries? I have been scouring the internet and forums all weekend, and it seems there is no where to buy!! Ha ha.

    Cheers,

  • Your videos are great. What quantize swing settings are you using in logic? Nice feel to it

  • @micael90 try propellerhead`s reason...it`s all in there :)
