  • Im sure its delicious, but it does look kind of weird compared to what Americans consider fried chicken. Regardless great vid with some good tips on frying.

  • @randy0987 Hey Randy, Thank you for your feedback. I fashioned the technique based on the American techniques - especially the soak in buttermilk. But do try the recipe, I am sure you will enjoy it.

    Take care and happy eating!!!

  • "Drools" fried chicken is my favorite .. looks so good! Wish I could have some of this now! Darn diets! :( My birthday is coming up this week, maybe I'll cheat? :D

  • @sleepyfacedangel Hey there! Great to hear from you. Well, if it's your birthday week, you do have to live a little. Give it a shot.

By the way, my birthday is coming up this week too. It's on Wednesday. When's yours?

  • @irfandama ~ Happy early Birthday, Chef! Wishing you the very best today and always!

My brithday is on Tuesday. Living it up isn't my problem.. LOL! I've lost over 30 lbs. so far, I want to loose at least 15 more. It's hard not to be tempted by this delicious recipe! Fried chicken is our favorite dish. You just had to bring out the chaat masala, too? Double temptation! :P I should be grateful, at least you didn't make a sweet dish? :D

  • @sleepyfacedangel Hey there!!! Happy Birthday then. Congrats on your achievement so far. Today is your day. Live it up and have a great one.

  • @sleepyfacedangel It's not cheating? It's treating yourself? LOL! Let me see if my husband goes for that? I knew I shouldn't have even clicked on this! :P

  • @philbx1 Hey Phil, That's awesome! Besan and Panko is a great idea. Actually, I have used Panko before. Check out my video for Masala Fried Chicken. It might be something you would enjoy. It's one of my earlier videos.

As for the chicken being oily, you might rectify it next time by ensuring the oil is really hot. 325 to 350 F will ensure that the oil does not get absorbed into the chicken as the steam generated pushes it out. That might be the issue.

Thanks for the feedback. Happy Eating!

  • Hey Irfan,

This turned out fantastic - albeit a bit oily, but I blame it on my (lack of) cooking skills.

The spice mix was great and although I couldn't find all of them, it turned out fine.

I used Besan flour for some Indian 'authenticity' mixed with some Japanese Panko crumbs (probably not a good move), but regardless it was all good.

Thanks for your effort in making this video Irfan, much appreciated.

  • @TheDino2714 That's fantastic! So glad it worked out for you. I will think of something for Eid. Hopefully will be able to get it out on time.

    Cheers!
