From the Archives in New York City, "was".

This cartoon was almost never broadcast and is extremely rare.

  • I bet this was followed by the Short Circus song, "Who Was"...

  • You're good! It indeed was.

  • The mysterious voice saying "was" sounded like Ted Cassidy (Lurch on The Addams Family)

  • You know, that would make a lot of sense, I bet it WAS him. (Oh good grief... unintentional pun...) I seriously think it was Cassidy now that you mention it.

  • Funny, I was just thinking while watching the "SH" episode, "two white guys in space...the ONLY kinda guys in space". I'm glad there was also an episode with a black astronaut. Did any women ever appear in these segments?

  • I don't think so. None I ever saw anyway!

  • It looked like the large rock had a face on it.

  • Yeah this is cool. I remember seeing it maybe a couple of times as a kid. Since it was "almost never shown" as you said I guess I was lucky to see it, and it's cool to see it again. I remember wondering a lot about this as a kid, like what was the lost civiliaztion like, why it was gone, how the astronauts knew about it, had they maybe been there before? Funny how a cartoon that's less just over one minute can make you think like that:)

  • This is electric company folks.

  • EARTHQUAKE!

  • If this show had still been around circa 1981,right about the time MTV came out, I'll bet TEC would've started playing music videos.. the Talking Heads could've done "Once In A Lifetime" and guess which word would've appeared over the band's heads when they got around to the line, "Same as it ever..." ?

  • I SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO remember these being "teasers" to intro songs by the Short Circus or other cast members!!!

    Thanks Rapo!!

  • This was seen on The Electric Company, not Sesame Street.
