3D Studio Max - District 21 above regional airport

Thjs 15 sec VFX clip was inspired by the film District 9. The model used in this clip is actually the droid control ship model. Rendering was done using mental ray in 3D Studio Max and composited onto the live action plate in adobe after effects. I also used adobe after effects to track the live shot so I could match the 3d render of the model to the footage. I think it turned out rather nicely.
