Summary:
Shamans in Korean society are generally women and are generally consulted by women. They are frequently those who have been "set apart" by bad life experiences. This film depicts portions of a two-day initiation ritual for a young woman, whose spirit mother and whose family believe she is destined to be a shaman. Music, rituals and life experiences of shamans are depicted and discussed.
