I ana christian, I ahve an IQ in the 120s, astronomy was always my favorite science, and I Know full well hwo samll the earth is compared to the stars, etc. I believe that God cares for us, but we are living on a very small speck in this universe!! Why would God care for us?! Maybe we are His special project!! ;-)

Why do you feel the need to mention your IQ? IQ has no relevance whatsoever, even the cleverest of people can be brainwashed.

Listen, I want to point out to you that you've made a very common, albeit ignorant, mistake. You say that people 2000 years ago had a conception of the universe which consisted of this planet, and a heaven above it, and not much else. You presume far too much of the ancients - or rather, far too little. All sorts of ancient civilizations looked out to the stars and realized that that expanse is f-ing huge!! People realized they were small in light of all creation. Cf. Psalm 8:3-4; 144:3-5
