Try to hear the version on the Roadmaster album of Gene; for me it's even better then the one on the reunion album,

performers then are :Clarence White, Sneeky Pete Kleinow ,Michael Clarke ,Byron Berlin and Spooner Oldham. It should be reissued, such a fantastic album.

Completely agree with you.

In fact, Roadmaster must be one of the most underrated albums of Rock, even by the "Byrds family".

Funnily enough, it is, in its origin, more of a compilation rather than a normal album, but all tracks work so well together (well, I guess the title song isn't that good, still...).

This is actually a sad video. Mr. Clark was to die soon and Mr. Clarke soon thereafter.

This is as raw as this tune can get. Still the purity of Gene's song shines. As noted in the comment below, Gene's songs DO hold up to time, if done by a punk band, a country band or friggin opera. I wish Gene was still with us. But he's not. Only bad videos and fond memories.

Well, it is nice to remember and to aprreciate his writings. I do The Virgin, Feel a Whole Lot Better, 8 Miles, Set You Free, Train Leaves Here Changing Heart and Full Circle....but Id hate to see ya sitting there crying in a good whiskey and dilute a good Jim Beam.....right now Im doing the ship Legend out of tampa....havent done much Gene o this ship yet....its better in a quieter lounge than the one Im in this week

you know,this is just a statement to how well gene's tunes hold up, I perform 6 nights a week aboard a cruise ship, and when i do Set You Free this time or Train Leaves here this morning or I feel a whole lot better or the Virgin, i can tell the audience likes the tunes, Gene' s material holds up beyond what I expected to an audience thats been overwhelmed with years of musics...just an obeservation from me,,I need to hear roadmasters, spooner is a fine writer himself

Yeah, it's indeed a kind of compilation of all kind of left overs from different sessions.Some of the songs have also Chris Hillman, Roger McGuinn, David Crosby, Bud Shank, Rick Robers ,Bernie Leadon participating. I have the Dutch sleeve , with motorbike photo's through Gene's head. Are you familiar with that ?
