The star CoRoT-7 is located towards the constellation of Monoceros (the Unicorn) at a distance of about 500 light-years. Slightly smaller and cooler than our Sun, CoRoT-7 is also thought to be younger, with an age about 1.5 billion years. It is now known to have two planets, one of them being the first to be found with a density similar to that of Earth.
There's something special about the CoRoT mission to me. Designed specifically to locate smaller, earth like bodies.
CoRoT 7-b, my favorite exo-planet, happens to revolve around it's star every 20 hours! It has an atmosphere developed by the evaporation of the minerals on it's surface (Similar to planet Mercury), baked out by the extreme temperatures on it's surface! Also it's theorized to have seas of lava flowing over large portions of the planet.
Eh... enough science lessons for now :)
