Hello again, and welcome to day 1 of the Online Network Marketing Quick Qtart Video Tutorial Series. The first thing we are going to cover here is getting a domain name for your business. Keep in mind there are three things that are a must have when you are starting your own internet business, and they are,
1) A Domain Name
2) A Hosting Account and
3) An Auto Responder System
Today we are going to claim your domain name. Keep in mind also that for search engine optimization it's often a good idea to keep the name of the company your promoting within the domain name you choose. Doing so will help drive your site to the first pages of Google and other search engines. By the way, that is where 90 persent of all online business happens.
Let's get started. Go to Godaddy.com to do a simple domain name search. Simply type in your company name with the prefix or suffix you decide to go with. For example, ReviewLeadNetPro.com
If the Name you want is available it will take you to a different screen to proceed with your registration. Press continue with purchase and you will be prompted to add a few more domains to your shopping cart. Don't add anything else, that way you will keep your cost around $12. If you want, you could come back later and purchase the .net and other domain extensions they offer.
Press no thanks.
Up next you will fill in your domain Registration information.
Press next to set your registration length. Set length for one year.
Then Press Next, this page is for Privacy And Domain Protection. Don't bother adding anything on this just click next.
On this page, If you want to get a professional email address you have the option to do so. However it is definitely not nessercery. You don't need to purchase hosting or website builder either. I will show you a much better option a little later. Hit next and you are done with this page.
Now you will be asked to review your shopping cart. Make sure you only have what you want in your shopping cart and click continue to check out.
Here you just need to edit your login information and hit continue to checkout.
Then you will be taken to the payment page. Simply enter your card information or select Pay pal as your payment option. Agree to the terns and conditions, select place 'order now', and the Domain Name is now YOURS!
Alright, Now that you bought your domain you will need to login to your new godaddy account and select the domain manager for the name you just bought. Click my account, then click domain manager to the left underneith my products.
Launch the project dashboard by clicking on the 'D' next to the domain name.
Once inside the domain manager you have a couple of options. You can leave the domain name how it is, and install wordpress to it. You will be able to place your personal site in front of the company replicated site with this option. I highly recommend installing wordpress. but Since you probably just got started with you company and they have most likely assigned an affiliate link to you, which is usually in the form of http://yourcompanyname.com/?=id=yourusername.
For now what we are going to do is forward your new domain name to your company replicated site.
Just select forwarding and it will take you to the following page where you can forward you domain.
But for now all you have to do is go to the back office of the company your with, copy your affiliate link and paste it in here. You don't need to include http://. The reason for doing this is, well let me put it this way, when sending people to your website would you want to give them a long affiliate link like www.effectivesalesleads.com/main.phpref=ekhmarketing or something custom and easy to remember like ReviewLeadNetPro.com?
Now again, company replicated sites generally don't help you recruit, so that's why we are going to move on to hosting, and installing your own site directly to your domain.
