2 October 2010 @ Sydney Academy of Sport :: my 1-kyu aikido grading under the auspices of Aikido Kenkyukai International (AKI) Australia.Takeda Shihan, Satoshi Sensei and Oka Sensei were also observing. i apologise for the 'reality tv' style videography. my friend kindly agreed to record my grading for me, but clearly was not very familiar with the camcorder. i reckon some video is better than no video. ;)

as usual, comments and queries welcome.

  • @Shadowmov3r k cool story bro. Who's to say your words don't mean shit on youtube either? Nobody's words mean anything on youtube at all. We're all just hiding behind the monitor.

  • @jebus733 You made a typo, it should be "I don't work at all". But I was being nice and corrected it for you :)

on a more intersting note, your explanations are off the charts dude, "Aikido doesn't work" you have completely convinced me that it didn't and damn the way you said how you worked more than me had convinced me even more. Peace bro, your words don't mean shit on youtube, I'm insulting you and I like it, because I know what to believe and what not.

  • @Shadowmov3r I work more than you.

  • @jebus733 Aikido works, but you don't work, get off your ass and start working.

  • who shot this, michael jay fox?

  • Aikido doesn't work.

  • I saw the white belt and thought: "Why does this guy doing all that movements with that belt??!!" haha! Than I saw it was 1-kyu grading.

Here we use a diferent collored belt for each kyu: I´m at 3-kyu, so my belt is green...

And hakamas only after the black belt.

    Regards.

  • All who study the 'way" begin at a place which is ego. or self. In progressing along the 'way', one gives up the ego and finds or acquires the middle ground. This is when the art becomes effortless and all movements become shared.

Good go, sir...you have travelled far!

  • you are being too technical. For some reason, there's too much flow to your movements. They should appear natural, not synchronized.

    Good work though.

  • Ok ok, nice grading :)
