Our Life in the D Youth journalists, Kaelin Austin and Caleb Browner, report from Detroit Public Television's American Graduate: Teacher Town Hall. The Teacher Town Hall was a televised forum in which teachers from across the state Michigan gathered to discuss solutions to improve the graduation rate.

OLiD journalists interviewed Sylvia Oatley - Middle School Science Teacher, Victor Gibson - Detroit Public Schools Teacher and Leisa Gallagher, Director of Reaching & Teaching Struggling Learners for the Michigan Department of Education.

Funded by the Bill and Melinda Gate Foundation, American Graduate is a five-year public media initiative that together educators, parents and youth, along with non-profit, civic and corporate entities to impact dropout rates regionally and nationally.
