  • Been a parrothead since I was 16 (1975 - before the term "parrothead" was even invented!) but the funny thing is this: while I love this song, over the years of angst, marital discord, disconnection with my roots, and 26 years of moving about, I DON'T wonder why I ever go home - it's to reconnect with my childhood friends and find solace and comfort in their love and acceptance. I live 3000 miles away from them, but I cherish their love more than anything on Earth.

  • True sentiments. It's hard to describe the life of an expat, but Jimmy does it well.

And yes, even after 15 years I still get itchy feet to move on somewhere else.

  • @bill51891 I know how you feel, Nancy has that hold on me. I named our retirement boat after her. I'd rather be alone if I can't have her

  • @fuzzypige222 He sells escapism. Keep in mind he is a business man as well as a composer, so he caters to the sheepole as well as his true fans, the Epicureans and the Stoics.

  • Does anyone know the key of the harmonica at the beginning of this song? It seems that most all his songs have that same key harmonica. Thanks

  • I wanted so much to spend the rest of my life watching sunsets like these holding you..God Sandy, I hurt so deep inside without you.. Me

  • beautiful song, he does some really dumb and silly songs, but he has some gems.
