One is the Vertex Standard 4200 series VHF radio and the other is the Vertex Standard 4200 series UHF model.
-
ok because i have a chevy 2500 with 2 spots a traffic director an led bar , head&tail flashers and a dash light , im a volunteer ff , i was just curious , i only have one battery but an extra alternator for the lights
-
Yes I did but then sold it just a couple months ago.
-
Right i looked that up and the county im from uses VHF for all gov't agencies including ESDA
-
Identical radios just different frequencies that they operate on. Most Police Depts around here operate on the VHF band while a lot of business' operate on the UHF band.
-
I really dont know the difference between VHF and UHF. is one a HAM radio and the other like a police radio?

I alternator but 2 batteries. The lights are mostly LED except the spot lights and galf of those are HID so only draw half the power after the first 60 seconds. Use them several times a week and had them on for nearly 90 minutes, all 10 lights that are now on there, and didn't even put a strain on the bettery.
