"We Belong Together" is a song by American singer-songwriter Mariah Carey from her tenth studio album, The Emancipation of Mimi (2005). The song was released on March 29, 2005, through Island Records as the second single from the album. "We Belong Together" was written by Carey, Jermaine Dupri, Manuel Seal, and Johntá Austin, and produced by the former three. As the song samples lyrics from Bobby Womack's "If You Think You're Lonely Now" (1981) and The Deele's "Two Occasions" (1987), several others are credited as songwriters. Following the release of "It's Like That", the album's lead single, which features a strong beat and production, "We Belong Together" is built on a simple piano arrangement with an understated backbeat. According to Carey, this was done to highlight her vocals, instead of having them obscured by heavy instrumentation. The song's lyrics chronicle a woman's desperation for her former lover to return after their separation and her loneliness following his departure.

Lyrics:
Uhhhhh...
Ohhhho...
Uhhhhu...
Ohhhho
Sweet love...
Yeah...
I didn't mean it
When I said I didn't love you so
I should have held on tight
I never should've let you go
I did know nothing
I was stupid
I was foolish
I was lieing to myself
I could not fathom I would ever
Be without your love
Never imagined I'd be
Sitting here beside myself
Cuz' I didn't know you
Cuz' I didn't know me
But I thought I knew everything
I never felt..
The feeling that I'm feeling now
That I don't hear your voice
Or even touch and kiss your lips
Cause I don't have a choice
What I wouldn't give
To have you lying by my side right here
'cause baby
When you left
I lost a part of me
It's still so hard to believe
Come back baby please 'cause
We belong together
Who am I gonna lean on
When times get rough
Who else gonna talk to me on the phone
Till' the sun comes up
Who else gonna take your place
There ain't nobody better, oh baby baby
We belong together
When you left
I lost a part of me
It's still so hard to believe
Come back baby please 'cause
We belong together
Who am I gonna lean on
When times get rough
Who's gonna talk to me on the phone
Till' the sun comes up
Who else gonna take your place
There ain't nobody better, oh baby, baby
We belong together
Uhhhu...
Uhhhu...

Don't make up: the grammes don't allow lipsynching. Watch Chris browns Grammy performance this year.. Mariahs second song here has quite a few parts that were synced, especially towards the end... Doesn't really matter though just don't make up things..

Pure live, she also was on tour for months prior to this performance. The grammys do not allow dubbed or lipped performances. She is remarkable! Love MC!
