Gay Jesus? "The Secret Gospel of Mark"

Professor Morton Smith, a Christian, has found a letter by the Bishop of Alexandria (c. 125 C.E.) describing a deleted passage of Mark's Gospel.

"And they come into Bethany. And a certain woman whose

brother had died was there. And she prostrated herself before

Jesus and says to him, Son of David, have mercy on me. But the

disciples rebuked her. And Jesus, being angered, went off with

her unto the garden where the tomb was, and straightway a

great cry was heard from the tomb. And going near, Jesus

rolled away the stone from the door of the tomb. And

straightway, going in where the youth was, he stretched forth

his hand and raised him, seizing his hand. But the youth,

looking upon him, loved him and began to beseech him that he

might be with him. And going out of the tomb they came into the

house of the youth, for he was rich. And after six days Jesus

told him what to do and in the evening the youth came

to him, wearing a linen cloth over his naked body. And

he remained with him that night, for Jesus taught him

the mystery of the Kingdom of God. And thence, arising, he

returned to the other side of the Jordan."


Scholars have long wondered at a curious passage in the

canonical Gospel of Mark (undisputedly the oldest of the

canonical gospels) which seems to hint that a detail or two might

have been left out: Then they came to Jericho. As he was

leaving Jericho with his disciples (Mark 10:46). But what

happened in Jericho on Jesus' whistle-stop tour of the

provinces? Did Jesus simply pass through and then leave

without doing or saying anything to anyone? If the visit was so

irrelevant to Jesus' mission, why is it even mentioned? The gap

suggests a missing portion of Marks Gospel.

"Secret Mark", is Morton Smith's tongue-in-cheek gibe at 1950s establishment- it's a Hoax, and, in fairness, Smith never intended it to be anything other than a Hoax: he even made reference to granulated table salt, a product only made available after 1910 when the MORTON Salt company developed the anticaking agent used in table salt. There are many other examples of a forger's signature, but I shall cover them in subsequent comments, as I do not want to clog up the comment section.

The funny part with this. Anyone within their own understanding knows the one rule given was to love thy neighbour. Man decided to change this for their own greed and ruling of the world. Why do people believe a book written 1000's of years ago by men who clearly illustrate hate for others who are different to the main stream. Spirits do not have sex organs. male/female has no meaning. Love to each other does though both physical and by mind. Work it out !!

@LAWAGO Why is none of it reliable? We have many different authors over different time periods writing about God/Jesus. Do you think Jesus would take on the Cross for something he knew was a lie? Would the diciples become martyrs for something they knew was a scam? That's because Jesus is Truth!

The secret of gospel of Mark had already been labeled a forgery and debunked by close scholarly examination. Morton Smith could never produce the original but only a photo of it which was examined as a forgery. It's a lie
