David Rivkin appeared on Chris Matthews' "Hardball" show to discuss the intelligence failure that occurred on and before Christmas Day 2009, when Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab attempted to detonate a bomb on board Flight 251 to Detroit from Amsterdam. A major question is whether the Obama administration can bring itself to use profiling. (Original airdate: January 5, 2010.)
David Rivkin was on Fox this morning (2/6) discussing the Mirandizing of Abdulmutallab. They had some young bureaucrat on there, too, who made the typical talking points about common criminal vs holy warrior. Sounds good in theory until you realize how easily cases are thrown out of court and how easily these trials become spectacles that favor the defense.

Now the O administration is boasting that Crispy Crotch is singing like a canary. Great message to send Al Qaeda. Guess PR is more important than national security.

I was enraged when WH Press Sec Gibbs had the gall to say that 50 minutes of interrogating the Underpants Bomber was sufficient. How would he know???

Agree. He's not getting a good thrill on this issue.

Can't believe I actually agree with Chris Matthews. Must be David Rivkin's charm.
