I'm a pacifist. I like irony, hence the name. : / I suppose it might have been Turner's famous painting, The Fighting Temeraire, which inspired it. ; )

Maddy Prior ( blue dress ) looks totally non-plussed at times. : ) I saw Dick Gaughan in concert about 10 years ago, where he performed Freedom Come All ye - and he was incredible.

This is great stuff. I only wish Dick would go back to making studio albums something like this though... the recent few have been a bit hit & miss imo.
I love both these songs. "Let the love of our lands' sacred rites to the love of our people succeed. Let friendship and honour unite and flourish on both sides the Tweed..." As someone from Newcastle with a Scottish mum & an English dad, those sentiments mean a lot to me...
