A fairly short tutorial on how to put on the underclothing for a kimono or yukata. I apologize for the poor editing, I had to get this one posted fast.

All you need is:
A jiban (the top half)
A kedashi (the bottom half)
2-3 himo (ties)

Opt. or alternately:
An eri (separate collar)
A Naga-jiban (one piece undergarment)
A suteteko (pants)

  • @123freddykrueger Sure. I'll try to get that done soon. I've been meaning too, but I need my sister's help! I'll send you the video when I get it done. :)

  • By "pants" do you mean trousers (american) or underwear (knickers and the like)

  • @rainpelt4eva Oh, haha I mean trousers (like I was wearing). I did that mostly for modesty's sake. :) Please, do wear knickers. XD

  • @jinnyboy8 It's absolutely optional. It may not fit as well, but no one will throw tomatoes at you for not wearing a towel. And sometimes the underthings are necessary for a light colored yukata in which case it may be too hot to wear a towel. I decided to forgo the towel when I nearly passed out from the heat.

  • loved the video its very helpful ^^. couple of questions. what are all the different parts of the kimino/ yukata. and where can we get it?

    please e-mail me @ jennifer_quanico.93@hotmail.com

    thanks ^^

  • can u do a video for like guys. cause i just got done with Obon and im gonna get new kimono so i need to learn how to do it right. i wear a happi coat for Obon but next year i wanna wear a kimono. can u help me?

  • @sakura851 A yukata slip is basically just a shift (kind of like a victorian chemise) that keeps you from sweating on your yukata. It's not necessary. I usually wear leggings and a tank under mine. :)
