No, I believe (well, I'm sure) there was nothing of this in Pushkin's "Evgeniy Onegin". I think it was made up just in order for people to understand that Tatyana was still in love with Onegin.

Yes, this was a concert version, 10/2000, @ NY Philharmonic--Fleming was just learning her role to be culminated in the magnificent performance @ The Met (on DVD & seen on HD) in '07 or '08--Chemistries had intensified & acting as well as singing were superb (understand the HD gave another spin, don't know as I haven't seen it). Hope Hvorostovsky doesn't give up this role as he IS the cad Onegin is & "feels" the character's personal hell, says he's bored w/role. Hope he stays w/it ,complexity!

When I saw this on PBS 7 years ago, I fell hoplessly in love with Dmitri.

Dmitri Hvorostovsky is fantastically with its exceptionally beautiful voice and his special presence. His charisma goes way beyond the norm. He is the best singer I ever heard, saw and experienced. To worship him and to love is the normal result.
