Great musical number involving Fred Astaire and a bunch of sand.

Astaire really hates the janitor of this stage, re: :00-:17.

The consummate professional. There are two different shoots of this scene. In the original, Fred was wearing much more threadbare and 'common' clothes. The studio heads, however, decided that that wasn't good enough, and so quite a while later, the entire scene was re-shot. The amazing thing, though, is that discounting camera placement, and of course the clothing, the two scenes are identical, down to the last step and gesture. Incredible dancer, actor, artist and genius.

MJ didn't just get his moves from James Brown, this is a prime example, 0:44 The use of sand to get that sound, the hat throw, etc. Add a little more pop & lock, some pelvic thrusts, and couple 'HO-ohs" (with one hand on the chest the other pointing) and you're there. Think smooth criminal.
