To clear some things up:

1) chalking the cue after each shot must be a habit for every serious pool player and snooker

2) In important matches and in any matches at all no player once a miscue just because the tip was not chalked

3) Nerves - they are under pressure and because they chalk the cue automatically they may not notice if they had done already couple of times

4) If you are not certain about the shot and look for solutions, chalk up the tip and look at the position planning to make

Just Fascinating! Those first 5-6 shots back and fourth safes are incredible shots! I watch this guy play and am inspired every time!
