I've been feeling very neglected lately by my mother, she's not very nurturing and over the past year not at all. She's the only one i have, and sometimes i would just like a hug and i can't get myself to ask for one so i never get it. And as far as nuturing myself, i don't really know how to do that so i'm in a pickle. lol.

I am resonating SO much with this video! I have taken on neglectful situations because that is what I expected anyway. I love what you say about how removing the expectation takes the pressure off. But I have found that there are some who cannot give period - they are just wired to be "takers." And they are relieved to have no pressure, but that does not mean they are open to give. I guess that is when you walk away.
