Uhm medieval knights in a post-apocalyptic setting? bwah.

I think they're supposed to be more modeled on ancient Rome than the medieval era. Possibly to remind players of the theme of collapse, evoking the fall of the Roman empire.

A 3d Fallout clone?

Fallout is an important inspiration, but it's not a clone (the setting seems more ancient Rome than Mad Max). Also, isn't isometric sort of 3D already?

To all stupid people:An "apocalypse" is not confined to a modern or future setting.An apocalyptic,cataclysmic event can happen during any time period.The post-apocalyptic occurrence for AOE just happens to be in a ancient roman-esque time period.
