Second Life Demonstration

Second Life Chinese School is designed and maintained by faculty and staff at Confucius Institute at Michigan State University (CI-MSU). The SLCS is targeted to people who are interested in learning the Chinese language and culture for pleasure or international business. SLCS offers students the opportunity to realistically interact with culturally rich artifacts, quests, activities, and native Chinese speakers. Learners can register to take college-level Mandarin classes for credit which are co-offered by Saint Clair County Community College, Michigan Virtual University and CI-MSU. Learners can also drop in 24/7 to immerse themselves in a virtual China to gain an authentic experience through role-play and questing that simulate Chinese language and cultural experiences.
