Plymouth Arts Center Open Mic - November 2008. So, I catch Fred at the open mic playing a sweet Wechter dobro, and I ask him to come up and play a tune with me cold! Not only did he sound good with his earlier set, but I knew he knew the stuff. Back in the day he talked more than a little bit about rock and blues on those long busrides. One day he told me all about Paul Butterfield, and my 17 year old wisdom said, "How good can you be with a name like Butterfield?". Fortunately, 16 years later, he's likely forgotten all about that dumbass remark. As you can hear, I also gave him the wrong root chord too. I hope he can forget about that too, so I can talk him into playing along next time! Tony DePagter: Guitar and Vocals / Fred Heyman: Slide Guitar.
