August 31 / September 1st, ImperialOil / Exxon Mobile's second Megaload rolled through Moscow around midnight, but the events were radically different from the previous Wednesday which resulted in 6 arrests. The Moscow Police took a hard line, not allowing protesters to step into the street, and not giving any second warnings. They were well prepared, as you can see in the video, to make arrests, but none were needed.

The shipment is 24 feet wide, 14.1 feet high, 193 feet long and weighs 322,800 pounds.

See previous video of Moscow's FIRST Megaload, and the resulting arrest here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NfYmZN-En94

  • @foucachon Opposing an ecological nightmare through civil disobedience is not disrespectful to hardworking people. C'mon, that's a red herring argument. It is not the working people being protested, it is the destruction of our environment. It is you who does not see the big picture. BTW, if you have been living in a cave, our economy does not work very well.

  • @fishskiwhiskey Our economy is not working very well because of "progressive" ideas like medicare, Social Security, etc. More stuff like this will help our economy. I realize they weren't protesting the drivers. Of course. But they're protesting a forward moving economy. I've talked for a good while with a few of the protesters. They're worshiping "mother earth" and barely heat their homes. They're religious fanatics, not scientists or people wanting to steward the planet.

  • @fishskiwhiskey I strongly believe in being a good steward of the planet. But we need to get a few ridiculous notions out of the way: 1. We are not "guests" on this planet. We are here to manage it, use it, and of course treat well, etc. 2. "mother earth" is not a goddess to anger, and there are no aliens in space that will blow us up if we emit too many emissions. 3. As much as it flatters us, we humans cannot "warm" or "cool" the planet. A single volcano heats more than 50 cities.

  • I was arrested in DC on 9/1/11. SO awesome that you guys were doing this at the same time!!

  • @thoughtbot38 No, it's not awesome. At least here in Moscow, the protesters were blocking the streets, not allowing the convoy through. That's civil disobedience and very disrespectful to all the hard working people that make it possible to have an economy that works so well. Transportation is an incredible gift, and these protesters are narrow-minded. They don't see the big picture. A few were arrested after following in an SUV. Such hypocrisy. It's like a religion for these guys. it's sick.

  • I live 100 feet from the highway they're moving these megaloads on and I don't really get why this is a big deal. They do it in the middle of the night and they have to stop every 15 minutes to let cars pass so they're not in anyone’s way. As for the environmentalists, we HAVE to have oil to power our world. If you tree huggers have a problem with that then go invent cold fusion or do something equally beneficial because protesting doesn’t solve shit.

  • I'm glad this gave people something to do in Moscow!

  • американская Москва,забавно))

  • medicare and oilsands wtf? u guys really are clueless

  • @foucachon How can you honestly believe that medicare and social security are what is hurting our economy without mentioning the cost of war? Besides, wall street and greed are what caused our recent economic hardships. Your claim that mega-load protestors are religious fanatics is absurd, so are your other conclusions. If you really "strongly" believe in being a good steward to our earth, you might consider researching the implications of bitumen mining instead of drinking the cool-aid.

  • @kingryan606 good for him!
