  • I love this song. I love this album. PylonKing, it remains a great tragedy to me that this music didn't find the audience it deserves. I found it in a second hand shop here in australia, and it remains one of my favourite albums (even though the secret song at the end skips). It has had a big influence on the music I write, and I rediscover it all the time. Man, that was a longwinded thankyou. Thankyou.

  • @beenole

Thanks so much for your kind words, its great to know some people got hold of it and got it! Shame the business side got so fucked up, as Ragga and i had lots more material in us.

  • I remember getting a demo cassette of theirs in the post when I was about 10 and had signed up for something. That and this song scared the sh*t out of me, it really gave me the creeps!

    I really like it now!

  • I quite like the fact that a track i made scared somebody - thanks - youve made my day! ;)

  • Ha ha, like I said I was just a kid and didn't understand it but now I love it, I've been playing it to my friends all week.

  • really glad you like it :)

  • I can remember hearing Ragga on some Tricky and 808 State Stuff and rushed out to find her on anything else which led me to Ragga and the Jack Magic Orchestra. This was in 97-98 and I could never find anything, not even on the web. Today I was reminded of Ragga and went to look for more music with her on it an and viola, I found this gem. I'm glad I found this today and not 97-98 because it's like opening a gift. Fresh new music to my ears and new experiences to match the music. Thank you!

  • Fantastic Song! Great Voice! Wonderful...

  • I bought this when it came out. I saw you guys on a sunny afternoon at pheonix festival in 96. Gutted not to hear more from you!!

    So powerful and Feckin ace!!!

  • @pylonking

You are more than welcome. To be honest I only bought it on a whim because I noticed that there were some tom waits samples on there. Little did I know that it would become such an important album for me. If you're interested in hearing music inspired by yours I put up a video for one of my songs which you should be able to find if you click on my name. I was particularly influenced by the sampled percussion in your music. A beautiful mix of junk ugly sounds and delicacy.

  • Her diction is very clear, but it wasn't until I purchased the CD with the lyrics printed inside that I perceived these words:-

    "Suddenly I realise

    You are no longer turtles

    You are... Airbombers!"

At the point in the video, a turtle changes into a marrow and breaks out of it's museum case....

  • Her real name is Ragnhildur Gísladóttir .. but she is always called Ragga Gísla :)

  • Can some post up the Peshay dub mix please Grrrr!!!!!!

  • I remember this and also recieved the tape! How strange after all these years. I got into this thought I think after realising that Ragga was the Ragga from Tricky's Maxinquaye album. What a great re-discovery... Really brilliant, inspired stuff.
