Lenny Kuhr is a Dutch singer-songwriter.
In 1967 she started a singing career in the Netherlands, performing songs in the French chanson tradition. In 1969 she represented the Netherlands in the Eurovision Song Contest with her own composition De Troubadour. She was one of the four winners that year.

In the early seventies Kuhr was more successful in France than in her home country. She topped the French charts in 1972 with the song Jesus Christo and performed in the shows of Georges Brassens.

In 1980 she had her biggest hit in the Netherlands: Visite, a song she performed together with the French group les Poppys. She has been releasing records ever since, though without major chart success.

1982 saw Kuhr host the Nationaal Songfestival, the Netherlands' national heat for Eurovision.

Lenny Kuhr converted to Judaism. She is married to Rob Frank and has two daughters from an earlier marriage, who live in Israel. For a while, she lived in Israel herself.

so en schönes lied!!! als dit gesungen wurde, war ik noch nich auf die welt... trotzdem, find ik das es hätte den ersten platz sein müssen. es ist mit abstand dit olle bewegende lied, mit so viele geschichte, mit so viel seele drin. außerdem, erinnert mich an die minnesänger, und sie sangen ursprünglich in okzitanisch, eine sprache wie mein liebste katalanisch. per sempre els països baixos i la seva gent tan guais i eixerida!

@agredolss Das Lied wurde ja 1. , teilte sich aber den ersten Platz mit Frankreich, Spanien und den Vereinigten Königreich (1969 gab es 4 Gewinner beim Grand Prix)

Not really either... Dutch is a Germanic language with lots of Anglosaxon and French influences and therefore a unique language.

English AND Dutch are a West-German language though, Roman is Latin and Latin languages are French, Spanish etc.

One Dutch province speaks Frisian (Friesland) and that is VERY close to English and less so German. Funny aint it?
