I finally worked out all the bugs in my FlipCup Dry Cell.

It only took 2 months of troubleshooting and redesigning, but in the end... It was definitely worth the wait!

Configuration is + NN NN NN NN NN - (stacked neutrals)

  • the volume of water needs to be greater than the cell preasure. you can increase the preasure you need by using a 1liter bubbler thus more weight pushing down on the vacume preasure created from the cell. make sure the bubbler is higher than the cell. just like if you wsas going to syphon fuel into a can. (gravity) use it.

  • Check out my latest video (#42). It is a concept that is basically the same setup but I'm using plates instead of cups and I have a gravity refill.

  • How many volts is your power supply? You really need to document the volts and the amps because then you can relate power in to H2 out and figure out the efficiency.

  • It is a converted PC Power supply that provides 12v DC current. Unfortunately I accidentally dropped my clam-meter into a bucket of water when I was performing a LPM test on one of my designs, so I'm not able to give an exact reading of voltage at this time.

  • cool, but is it flowing out the bottom hose?

just lift the reservoir up higher that the cell & it will replenish properly.

awesome work, that must have been hard to do

  • Thanks, that is exactly what I did to fix the recirculation problem.

The only thing that was hard, was finding the time to put it together, and come up with a way to make it work.

  • @HHO4ALL without the neutral cups, does it pretty much have the same output, besides the heat issue?

  • @HHO4ALL

Had about the idea that "apsert" proposed .

Well placed, an almost flat container could hold a lot of solution ( water + ... ) and gravity would take over ....

I'd like to know more about the water you use .

    Tap ? Distiled ? and

    Anything in it ?

  • Very interesting,

  • great unit

try using o-rings for the seals between the cups

    o-ring temp rating over 250 F
